Ameena Lakhani and the staff  are highly accomplished individuals with very strong academic backgrounds and who strongly believe in the academic success of children. Ameena been resident in the area for over 12 years and Ms Lorie for over 30 years and have served the children through various school system namely PISD, RISD, GISD and Wylie education system.

Ameena Lakhani holds a Master's Degree in Management from Southern Methodist University and Bachelor Degree's in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science from Osmania University. She has worked with children in early childhood development for 5 years and has seen how much of an impact early skill-building has on the success of young learners. Since August 2017, Ameena has been active on the Gifted and Talented Advisory Committee, where she builds strategies to meet the needs of brilliant learners. Given her strong academic background, she understands the challenges and pressure faced by students and is passionate in helping them excel in their academic careers, with goals to build skills they can eventually take on to university.  She specializes in designing individual education plans to help students achieve their full potential. Ameena is always thrilled to meet students and guide them to one day becoming confident and independent thinkers.

Gwen Cox has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Chapman University. She has been with The Tutoring Center, Garland since August 2019. Before that, she was working as a Director at Explore Horizons since 2015 where she has been inspiring Garland students to become fearless learners.  She holds several certifications including the "Train the Trainer Certification" as of August 2017. She works to improve the Center’s education delivery by coaching tutors daily to become excellent teachers. She brings her extensive experience and expertise and value to our center. Her favorite aspect of working with children is seeing them grow in self-esteem and ambition. You can find Gwen always offering a helping hand to better your child's success.

Lorie Baker has her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Texas Tech University and her Master’s degree from Amberton University. This is her 29th year working as an educator and growing students into successful individuals is her passion! She has worked with thousands of students throughout her career and has helped many types of learners overcome their personal struggles. Lorie is very excited to be a part of The Tutoring Center and has been working with our amazing students with the aim to promote higher academic skills and express her love for education.

Our classrooms feature an intense learning environment that combines “The Rotational Approach to Learning” and One-To-One Instruction. Both methods were developed by Edward S.Thalheimer, Ph.D., founder of THE TUTORING CENTER. Our innovative system gives your child far more One-to-One Instruction than he or she will ever receive in a classroom full of children, or even in a small group.
