Mathematics Memory

The challenge with making learning math at school fun is that it simply isn’t realistic. You can’t expect a teacher to teach all of their lessons via games and fun activities. If just isn’t a good use of the teacher's time. It is a good use of your time, however, and The Tutoring Center, Garland TX has a great game for you to try!

Try Mathematics Memory at Home

  • Cut about 20 pieces of card or paper about the size of traditional playing cards.
  • Set aside 10 cards and write a math equation on one side. On the other side, mark a small dot.
  • On one side of the remaining 10 cards, write a corresponding answer.
  • Place the cards face up on the table in rows of five.
  • Everybody better be quick! You only have 10 seconds to look at the cards before turning them all over.
Each person now takes turns choosing a question card, flipping it over, and solving the problem. They also have to try to remember where the correct answer is. In addition to being a fun game for them to play, it is also a great way to reinforce lessons as your student solves the same problem over and over as they search for the answer.
